Mountain of Rice - rice terraces

Mountain of Rice – Philippines. Photographers noted, “These rice terraces that follow the contours of the mountain had been here for roughly 2,000 years. Dubbed as the eight wonder of the world, these rice terraces are carved out of rocky mountainsides in most of the Cordillera Provinces — following sacred traditions and skill passed on to generations. On the average, these rice terraces are 1,500 meters above sea level.” Photo #9 by Storm Crypt

  3. SImply beautiful.
The fluid contours are sensuous and voluptuous, revealing the abundance in every crevice and opportunity.
This form of farming is deigned ‘primitive’ by those who have mechanisation but this is so sophisticated
    reflecting ancient wisdom.
    Thank you

  4. Great pictures… so big and vivid colors.. I really really love viewing the compilation of rice terreces from different countries made by different people:)) tns so much^^

  5. Went to Bali a few years ago and witnessed these things first hand. A spectacular sight and ingenious use of very limited space to produce large quantities of food. And when you consider that these practices were have been in use for hundreds and even thousands of years it makes you realize that we westerners could learn a thing or two from them, both in technique and ethics.
